This project – 4 Bed 300 sqm three story residence – was carried out in October 2013. Mr Power was renovating this period house and contacted Diverse Energy to enquire if a heat pump system would deliver a cost effective alternative to suit his requirements. Niall had an oil fired boiler which was removed. After surveying the property, we confirmed the appropriate system for his application would be an Altherma Low Temperature (LT) heat pump system. Niall installed high efficiency aluminium radiators throughout the basement, ground and first floors. The indoor unit is located at basement level below the stair case, the outdoor unit is located to the rear of the dwelling as seen in the photo gallery.

The installation consisted of a Low Temperature wall mounted indoor unit interface with a 280 litre hot water cylinder, complete with motorised valves, zone thermostats, and 14 energy-efficient aluminium radiators. This system is 30% more efficient than our High Temperature (HT) system and is ideal for underfloor heating, renovations, and new builds. Our aim is to maintain a temperature of between 19/22’c and avoid large temperature swings within the property. Since installing his Altherma LT system it operates 24/7 during the heating season. In summer time the heating cycle is off, however hot water production is maintained.

Niall & Niamh have no other form of heating in their home and operate solely on the Altherma LT system installed. They have a constant warm home throughout winter increasing the comfort of their home and wellbeing of their family. Niamh & Niall have substantially reduced their carbon footprint which is essential for the environment. This will be a requirement most homes will need to address in the near future. By investing in Diverse Energy Niamh & Niall have substantially reduced running cost in heating their home and now enjoy substantial savings into the future.
